Bioinspired Compartmentalization Strategy for Coating Polymers with Self-Organized Prismatic Films

چکیده

Biomineralization provides load-bearing and protective functions to living organisms by reinforcing soft tissues. Translation of biomineralization principles materials science in a controlled self-organized fashion is highly desirable but challenging. A major lesson from natural systems that crystallization may be compartmentalization templating. Here, we develop technique based on graphene oxide-mediated templating prismatic growth calcite nanocoatings via control ionic diffusivity into the microcompartments, which results multistage, represents an effective strategy for providing continuous enhancing tribological performance polymeric surfaces under contact stresses. The present research offers bottom-up approach using very basic protection surfaces, are interest biomedical applications fabrication high-performance functional sustainable manner.

Protein Mimicry with Bioinspired Peptoid Polymers

Despite the fact that proteins and bulk polymers share a common linear polymeric architecture, the fields of Structural Biology and Polymer Science are presently separated by a great divide [1]. In fact, there are relatively few non-natural polymer systems that include even the most fundamental of biopolymer attributes: chemical diversity and sequence specificity. The chemical information encod...

Self-organized molecular films with long-range quasiperiodic order.

Self-organized molecular films with long-range quasiperiodic order have been grown by using the complex potential energy landscape of quasicrystalline surfaces as templates. The long-range order arises from a specific subset of quasilattice sites acting as preferred adsorption sites for the molecules, thus enforcing a quasiperiodic structure in the film. These adsorption sites exhibit a local 5...

Organized films

Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) films, prepared by transferring an amphiphilic molecular monolayer (Langmuir monolayer) from a water surface onto a solid substrate, represent both archetypal and prototypical “organized films” (OFs). Known since about 80 years, LB films can be considered from many points of view as one of the prominent predecessors of what we call nanoscience today [1]. Their impact on i...

Self-organized nanoscale structures in Si/Ge films

Nanotechnologies of the future will demand the creation of large arrays of nanoscale structures and morphologies for electronic and optoelectronic devices. One approach to the creation of such arrays is to ‘‘let nature do it’’. By depositing on each other semiconductor materials that differ slightly in lattice constant, one can use the resulting lattice strain to obtain arrays of threedimension...

Electrochromic properties of self-organized multifunctional V2O5–polymer hybrid films

Bio-inspired V2O5–polymer hybrid films were prepared following a one-step self-organization procedure based on liquid crystal formation of organic and inorganic components. These materials were previously reported to exhibit advantageous mechanical properties, comparable to biomaterials, such as human bone and dentin. Here, we show that these hybrid films prepared via a fast and simple synthesi...
